• Madrid dates from the ninth century. At that time, it was the site of a Moorish fortress called Magerit.

It’s history has been a colourful one
    and its conflicts many.

Madrid gained prominence when Alfonso VI of León and Castile took Magerit from the Moors in 1085 during the so-called Reconquista (Reconquest) of Spain by Christian forces. One of many Crusader campaigns that took place through Spain, earning its place in the Crusaders Series.
